PARENTING GROUP PSYCHO-EDUCATION

Gottman Parenting: Into the World – Guiding Your Toddler

The toddler years are a time of rapid emotional, cognitive, and relational development. Toddlers are learning how to experience big emotions, assert independence, and make sense of the world, often without the language or self-regulation skills to express themselves calmly. Guiding Your Toddler is a parenting group designed to help caregivers understand toddler behavior through a developmental and emotional lens, rather than viewing it as defiance or misbehavior.

This group is grounded in the research-based parenting framework of the Gottman Institute, emphasizing emotional attunement, co-regulation, and secure attachment. Parents learn how early relationships shape emotional regulation, resilience, and behavior patterns later in childhood.

In this group, parents will learn how to:

  • Understand the emotional and developmental needs driving toddler behavior

  • Respond to tantrums and emotional outbursts with calm, supportive strategies

  • Build emotional language and early self-regulation skills

  • Set developmentally appropriate boundaries while maintaining connection

  • Foster secure attachment during a critical stage of brain and emotional development

Toddlers experience emotions intensely and often move quickly between joy, frustration, and distress. When parents understand how limited impulse control and language skills affect behavior, they are better equipped to guide toddlers with empathy and structure rather than escalation or punishment.

Why This Program Matters
Drawing from decades of research by John Gottman and Julie Gottman, this program helps parents lay a strong emotional foundation during the earliest years. Parents gain practical tools to support emotional growth, reduce daily power struggles, and build a secure parent–child relationship that supports healthy development over time.

This group is ideal for parents and caregivers of toddlers seeking a calm, research-informed approach to guiding behavior, strengthening connection, and supporting emotional development from the very beginning.

Gottman Parenting: Empowering Your

Toddler’s Inner Growth

The toddler years are a powerful period of emotional, neurological, and relational development. During this stage, toddlers are forming their earliest beliefs about safety, connection, and self-expression while learning to navigate big emotions with limited language and self-regulation skills. Empowering Your Toddler’s Inner Growth is a parenting group designed to help caregivers support this foundational stage with intention, empathy, and developmentally informed guidance.

This group is grounded in the research-based framework of the Gottman Institute, emphasizing emotional attunement, co-regulation, and secure attachment as the building blocks of healthy development. Parents learn how everyday interactions shape emotional resilience, self-worth, and relational patterns later in life.

In this group, parents will learn how to:

  • Understand the emotional and developmental processes driving toddler behavior

  • Support emotional expression and early self-regulation through connection

  • Respond to tantrums and dysregulation with calm, attuned strategies

  • Set loving, developmentally appropriate boundaries that foster safety and trust

  • Nurture curiosity, confidence, and emotional security during early growth

Toddlers experience emotions intensely and often lack the neurological capacity to manage frustration or transitions independently. When caregivers understand these limitations, they can respond in ways that reduce power struggles and promote emotional learning rather than escalation.

Why This Program Matters
Informed by decades of research from John Gottman and Julie Gottman, this program provides practical, evidence-based tools to support early emotional development. Parents gain confidence in guiding behavior while strengthening the parent–child bond during one of the most formative stages of life.

This group is ideal for parents and caregivers of toddlers who want to intentionally support emotional growth, build secure attachment, and create a strong foundation for lifelong resilience and well-being.
