Every session is a full 60 minutes, whichever therapist you see.
SELF-PAY
$150
per 60-minute session
One flat rate for individual, couples and family sessions, including your first visit. Telehealth sessions cost the same as in person.
WITH INSURANCE
Your copay

You pay your plan's copay for a 60 minute session. We check your benefits before your first visit, so you know the number ahead of time.
How You Pay
American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, HSA cards and cash. Payment is due at the time of service, and every client keeps a card on file.

YOUR BENEFITS

Call the member number on your card and ask: Do I have a deductible for outpatient mental health? What is my copay? Is telehealth covered? We are glad to help.
CARD ON FILE
Required for every client
Every client keeps a card on file and authorizes billing for each session. It covers copays, self-pay sessions and any fees, so nothing is left hanging.
PLAN NOT LISTED
Call us anyway
Some plans cover out of network care at a reduced rate. Call and we can usually find out what yours does in a few minutes.
SUPERBILLS
Available any time
Paying out of pocket and want to send it to your insurance yourself? Ask for a superbill whenever you like and we will get you one.
SLIDING SCALE
Not offered
We do not offer a sliding scale. Self-pay is $150 per session, and you can ask for a written Good Faith Estimate before you begin.

Cancellations
Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancel 24 hours or more ahead and there is no charge. A late cancellation or a missed appointment is $75. Insurance does not pay for missed sessions, so this fee is billed to you.
Billing and Denied Claims
Healing Within Counseling bills your insurance for you once your therapist completes the documentation for your session. We check your benefits before your first visit, but a benefits check is not a promise that your plan will pay. If a claim is denied, we will let you know right away and help you see whether it can be corrected or appealed. If your insurance still will not pay, you are responsible for that session at our self-pay rate of $150.
Couples and Family Sessions
Self-pay is the same $150 as an individual session. Insurance coverage depends on your plan, and couples therapy varies the most, so we check your plan before you book.
How it is billed: Healing Within Counseling bills the session to the insurance of the client being treated, after your therapist completes the session documentation. If your plan does not cover couples or family therapy, the session is $150 self-pay.
Usually covered: Cigna and Evernorth, Select Health, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, University of Utah, UMR on select plans, and TRICARE once we are in network.
May be covered: Blue Cross Blue Shield and Regence, and Aetna.
Depends on your plan: EMI Health, DMBA, and PEHP, which may cover family therapy.
Telehealth
A telehealth session costs the same as an in person session. Every clinician offers telehealth except Amy Pollard, who sees clients in person.
Groups and Classes
Group prices depend on how long the group runs, the format, and how many clinicians lead it. Each group's price is listed on its page and on its flyer, or call and we will tell you before you sign up.
Good Faith Estimate
If you are uninsured or paying out of pocket, federal law gives you the right to a written estimate of what your care will cost before it starts. Ask us and we will put it in writing.
NEUROFEEDBACK
Neurofeedback Is Self-Pay
Neurofeedback is not billed to insurance. You agree on one price before you start, and nothing is added later.
BRAIN MAP ON ITS OWN

A 19 channel recording compared against a normative database for your age, then walked through with you in plain language.
THE FULL PROGRAM
$3,500
30 sessions, brain maps included
Thirty training sessions and four brain maps: one before you start, then a new map every ten sessions so you can see what is changing.
Brain Map Credit
Started with a brain map on its own? That map counts as the first of your four, and the $250 you paid is credited toward the program, so your remaining cost is $3,250.
What It Works Out To
$3,500 across thirty sessions is about $117 a session, with all four brain maps included. For comparison, an hour of therapy here is $150 self-pay.
