About Brian
Brian is the owner of Healing Within Counseling and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He served 11 years in the Marine Corps before becoming a therapist and he brings that same steadiness to his work with trauma. Very little rattles him and nothing you share will be met with judgment.
He works with teens and adults on PTSD, attachment wounds, anxiety and depression using EMDR, Internal Family Systems, clinical hypnosis and neurofeedback. He is Gottman Method trained and also sees couples.
Brian believes pain and coping behaviors are not defects. They are intelligent responses to what life has handed you. That idea runs through everything at this practice, which is why it carries the name it does. Healing starts from within.
He is also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and a Utah approved supervisor who trains associate-level clinicians, so the standard he holds for his own work is the one he teaches.
In Brian's Words
“
When I imagine my ideal client, they are someone who has faced significant challenges, trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, or depression, yet they possess a deep desire to heal and grow. Their issues often stem from past experiences, whether it's unresolved trauma, feelings of inadequacy, or a persistent inner critic that keeps them from reaching their full potential. These individuals often feel stuck, perhaps caught in a cycle of negative thinking, emotional overwhelm, or avoidance. They might struggle with sleep, relationships, or simply feeling at peace in their own skin. I love what I do, and would love to help.
Traumas, anxieties, and depression can leave scars that can be hard to see. They scream inside one's head until you decide to get help. Facing pain takes courage, but I offer a way to put them behind you step by step. It is time to be brave and face those anxieties so that you can remove the threat in your mind. Let yourself heal!
As a therapist, I specialize in healing traumas and attachment wounds, among many other issues. I have experience helping individuals, families, and couples. I am passionate about helping others with improving their health and recovery. I am EMDRIA certified and trained in hypnosis. I would love to explain the process to you and answer any questions.
