About Kristen
Kristen brings about 20 years of social work experience with youth and adults. Since 2019 she has been a therapist at Provo Canyon School, helping adolescents with complex trauma and co-occurring diagnoses through individual, family and group therapy. She also presents continuing education for other clinicians.
Before Utah she spent over a decade with the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana, including ten years as Program Director, building statewide support services and supervising social work interns. Families navigating brain injury or disability will find someone who actually understands that road.
She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, trained in EMDR and CAMS. She sees children from age 6, teens, and adults, in person or by telehealth, and offers a free 15 minute intro call so you can make sure the fit is right before you commit to anything.
In Kristen's Words
“
Healing does not happen in isolation; it happens in relationship. My work starts with building a safe, steady connection where you or your child can be honest about what is really going on, without judgment. From there, we work together to understand what is getting in the way and to build practical skills that hold up outside the therapy room.
I have worked in social work for over twenty years with youth, adults, and families in direct clinical care, residential treatment, leadership, and training. For the past several years, I have served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Provo Canyon School, providing individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents living with complex trauma and co-occurring diagnoses. Before that, I spent thirteen years with the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana, first as a resource facilitator and then as Program Director, supporting individuals of all ages living with brain injury and the families who care for them.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and I am trained in EMDR and the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). In session, that looks like helping you understand how trauma and anxiety show up in the body and the mind, learning tools to regulate big emotions, and carefully processing experiences that continue to affect you at a pace that feels safe.
Because so much of my career has been spent working alongside families, community programs, and treatment teams, I bring a strong knowledge of community resources and a commitment to advocacy. If you or your child is navigating a brain injury, a disability, or a complex diagnosis, I understand the systems involved and can help you find your footing.
You do not have to have the right words or a clear plan before reaching out. We can start with what is hardest right now and build from there.
