Meet the Team at
Healing Within Counseling
Seven therapists with different training, backgrounds and lived experience, all committed to one idea. Healing starts from within.
OWNER · LCSW · EMDRIA CERTIFIED · IN PERSON & TELEHEALTH
Brian owns Healing Within Counseling and has been a therapist for over twelve years. Before that he spent eleven years in the Marine Corps and he brings that same steadiness into the room. He sits with teens and adults carrying trauma, grief, anxiety and the kind of stuck feeling that does not have words yet. Some of what hurts does not live in your thoughts. It lives in your body and talking alone does not always reach it. You have been strong for a long time and being strong has not made the pain go away. That is not a failure. You are not broken and you do not have to do this alone.
THERAPIST · LCSW · IN PERSON & TELEHEALTH AVAILABLE
Brittany has been a therapist for ten years, most of it at Provo Canyon School, where she supervises and trains newer clinicians across Utah. She thinks therapy should be a place you can be honest about what is happening without feeling judged or pressured. She believes people often already have more strength than they realize and her job is to help you see what is getting in the way and build practical ways forward. She works with children, teens and adults, and with couples and families.
THERAPIST · LCSW · TELEHEALTH AVAILABLE
Emily has worked with teens and families for more than twenty years and she now leads clinical services at Provo Canyon School. She trains professionals across the country on trauma informed care, so she knows what actually helps and what only sounds good on paper. She believes most healing happens outside the therapy hour, in the ordinary relationships around a person. She also sees healthcare providers who are running on empty. Children, teens, adults, couples and families are all welcome.
THERAPIST · LCSW · IN PERSON & TELEHEALTH
Kristen has been in social work for about twenty years and a therapist at Provo Canyon School since 2019, where she works with adolescents carrying complex trauma and co-occurring diagnoses. A lot of her work is with autism and ADHD. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and she spent over a decade supporting people with brain injuries and disabilities. She sees children, teens and adults, and she offers a free 15 minute call first.
THERAPIST · CSW · SEES YOUNG CHILDREN
Aubree has spent ten years in Utah's child welfare system and still works there as a post adoption worker for the state. She is a graduate of the accredited Training for Adoption Competency and is trained in EMDR and TBRI, so adoptive and foster families are familiar ground for her. She works with the whole family, from young children through adults, and she facilitates programs that help parents and kids build a stronger sense of worth. She sees clients evenings and weekends.
THERAPIST · LCSW · IN PERSON · FRIDAYS
Amy has been a licensed clinical social worker for nearly twenty years and EMDR certified for ten. She started in a hospital emergency room, then ran substance use programs, and she has taught social work students at BYU for much of that time. Very little surprises her. She meets you where you are and builds a space where you feel valued and heard rather than assessed. She works with adults and older adults on trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction and grief, in person on Fridays.
THERAPIST · CMHC, ASUDC
Becky works with adults navigating trauma, substance use, anxiety and the kind of emotional overwhelm that makes everything feel loud. She treats addiction and the trauma underneath it as one conversation rather than two. Her sessions are collaborative and structured, and she draws on ACT, DBT, EMDR and hypnotherapy to settle the nervous system and trade old patterns for coping you can actually use. She sees adults and older adults, in person or by telehealth, and she offers a free 15 minute call first.
