MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Brittany Taggart

THERAPIST · LCSW · IN PERSON & TELEHEALTH AVAILABLE

About Brittany

Brittany has been a therapist for ten years. She creates a judgment-free space where you can be fully honest without fear of being criticized. She believes most people already carry more strength than they realize and her job is to help you see it, name what is in the way and build practical strategies for change.

She works with children, teens and adults in individual, couples and family therapy. Families often come to her when one person's struggle has started to pull on everyone else, because she is comfortable working with the whole system, not just the identified problem.

Brittany has been a Supervising Therapist at Provo Canyon School since 2016, where she trains interns and provisionally licensed clinicians, and she is a Utah approved supervisor. She received a Service Excellence Award for that work.

In Brittany's Words

Therapy should be a place where you can feel comfortable being honest about what is happening without feeling judged or pressured. I believe people often already have more strengths than they realize. My role is to help you understand what is getting in the way, recognize patterns that may no longer be helping, and develop practical ways to move forward.

I have experience providing individual and family therapy and have worked with clients who need additional support navigating emotional, behavioral, and relationship concerns. My approach is compassionate while still being focused on helping you make meaningful changes outside of the therapy room.

I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR. Therapy may involve understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, learning healthier coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and processing experiences that continue to affect you.

I also have extensive experience supervising and training therapists. Throughout my career I have helped clinicians with case conceptualization, treatment planning, documentation, and improving the overall quality of care they provide. That experience has strengthened my belief that therapy should be thoughtful, individualized, and centered on what each person actually needs.

You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can start with what is bothering you now and work together to better understand what is happening and what changes would help you feel more confident, connected, and in control of your life.
