About This Group

This is the complete adolescent DBT skills curriculum, designed as four 6-week modules. Families enroll one module at a time, so the first commitment is six weeks rather than six months, and most teens go on to complete all four. Groups are active, engaging and fun, using games, activities, real-life scenarios, discussion and hands-on practice so the skills feel relevant and stick.

What We Cover

Module 1, Mindfulness and Distress Tolerance: managing crises and intense moments without making things worse. Module 2, Emotion Regulation: understanding, regulating and responding effectively to emotions. Module 3, Interpersonal Effectiveness: communication, relationships, boundaries and asking for what you need. Module 4, Walking the Middle Path: validation, dialectical thinking, behavior change and reducing family conflict.

Who This Group Is For

Teenagers who struggle with emotional intensity, impulsive or self-destructive coping, conflict at home, or relationships that feel unstable. No specific diagnosis is needed. There is a short conversation before joining so you and your teen know what group is and is not, and so we can be confident it is the right fit right now.
