About This Group
A structured skills group for autistic and neurodivergent clients, built around the Healthy Relationships Curriculum developed by Dr. Lawrence Sutton and Wesley Spectrum. The approach is direct and concrete rather than hint-based, and it treats connection as something that can be taught clearly instead of something people are expected to absorb.
What We Cover
Caring for yourself: daily routines, hygiene, and privacy, covered plainly and without embarrassment. Understanding your body: body literacy, development, and health, including sexual health taught in clear and respectful terms. Relationship development: the difference between a friend, an acquaintance, and someone who is not safe; personal space and voice volume; small talk and private talk; social media safety; consent and physical affection; and dating, from asking someone out through what actually happens on a date.
Who This Group Is For
Autistic and neurodivergent teens and adults who want concrete, respectful instruction in relationships and social navigation, taught without condescension.
Format and Details
Lesson-based group with role plays, video demonstrations, and take-home material for families and caregivers. Based on the Healthy Relationships Curriculum (Dr. Lawrence Sutton and Wesley Spectrum, healthyrelationshipscurriculum.org).
